Smells Like...?

I just tilled up my garden for the second time this year getting it ready to plant. Every time I do, I breath in as deeply as I can to enjoy that fabulous smell! That's right.....I LOVE the smell of dirt! Fresh soil I should say, or people might think I am disgusting. It is one of the top ten smells I most enjoy. It evokes so many memories of my childhood, my family, spring.....just HAPPY memories altogether. I hope my children will have the same fond memories as I do and enjoy the outdoors just as much. I don't think I will ever tire of that smell and must admit, I sometimes dig a little hole in the ground wherever I am at and take a little whiff to relax. Call me crazy, but I call it dirt cheap therapy.

Favorite Things.....

My FAVORITE part of running my business would definitely have to be the designing part. I could spend all day (if I ever had a free day left alone, or even an hour) doing so.

Putting colors together makes me happy. I like to sit on my couch and surround myself with all of my pretty little shiny trinkets. Nothing gets my creative juices flowing more than encasing myself in a huge explosion of color. As I sit there staring at the chaos of colors all around me, design usually just comes to me. I frantically try to put one idea together before the next one arrives. Sometimes it works.....sometimes it doesn't. More often than not it ends up being an enormous colorful explosion of all things girly. But, I LOVE doing it anyways!

Tweet, Tweet...

I just set up a Twitter account. As I was "tweeting" my first few chirps, I started to wonder what the purpose of it was. What makes Twitter so much different than Facebook?(besides the pictures) Is it better? It is slightly less time consuming, which with 3 children, homeschooling, an Etsy business and life, is a perk. Nothing sucks up my non-existent time like social networking, but it is STILL just another way to chat. I think I'll try it out for awhile and see if it is worth the effort vs. a little more time to run my life.

Timeless Wedding Tutus

I'm hopefully going to get my collection of wedding tutus in the works today. I have a fabulous vision in my head, but we all know that that doesn't mean anything! I am looking to pair up with a photographer when they are finished and do a shoot, so if you know anyone that would be interested please send them my way. I also am interested in knowing what peoples opinions are about a few different aspects of tutus.....like sewn or not sewn....too much tulle or not enough tulle, lined not lined, etc..... I'm going to set up a poll and hopefully get a few good responses. Check back soon to leave your opinion.

To blog or not to blog....?

Since starting this blog yesterday, I have read a MILLION ways to blog correctly. And just as many reasons as to why blog at all. Product promotion...no one listens to you...meet new people...etc., etc., etc..... I think my reasons for doing it will change everyday, if not multiple times a day. I definately want to get my shop name out there and generate business, but I think the fact that no one listens to me half the day will probably drive me more! :) I have 3 young children, so these few minutes of escape to discuss whatever I want is PRICELESS!

Wedding accessories

I've been wanting to start a variety of hair accessories geared mostly towards weddings.....(popular color palettes, sparkle, pizazz, etc.) here is a sample of a few I have come up with so far. Let me know what you think.

Welcome to my attempt at blogging! Right now I have 2 screaming children in my ear, dinner on the stove and a million ideas in my head. I'm not sure yet which one will prevail.... I am hoping this will be a positive outlet for myself and my business. Both of which are very important to me. :) I can't wait to figure all of this out (hopefully) and get all of my ideas up and running. Please bear with me!
